November 04, 2022 (MLN): The Weekly Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the Combined Group increased by 0.53% during the week ended Nov 03, 2022, while the SPI increased by 30.6% compared to the corresponding period from last year, as per data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The Combined Index was stood at 214.88 compared to 213.74 on Oct 27, 2022, while the index was recorded at 164.53 a year ago, on Nov 04, 2021

Out of the 51 monitored items, the average price of 21 items increased, 9 items decreased whereas 21 items registered no change during the week.

The weekly SPI percentage change by income groups showed that SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 0.41% and 0.9%.

The Lowest Income Group witnessed a weekly increase of 0.9% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 0.41%.

On a yearly basis, analysis of SPI change across different income segments showed that SPI increased across all quantiles ranging between 26.72% and 31.67%.

Yearly SPI for the Lowest Income Group increased by 26.72% while the highest income group recorded an increase of 31.67%.

The average price of Sona urea stood at Rs.2476 per 50 kg bag which is 1.14% higher than last week’s price and 24.17% higher when compared to last year.

Meanwhile, the average Cement price was recorded at Rs.1039 per 50 kg bag, which is 0.58% higher than the previous week and 41.55% higher than prices last year.
