November 2, 2022 (MLN): The Chinese companies are interested to invest in Pakistan companies and in joint ventures.
On Wednesday, in a meeting with Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif Chinese companies accepted the offer to invest in Karachi’s clean drinking water project including other mega projects.
PM also invited the top Chinese firms to visit Pakistan and offered them to jointly work on his government's initiative of generating 10,000 megawatts of electricity through solar.
Chinese companies in a meeting in Beijing also assured to complete the Gwadar project by the beginning of next year.
“The government had paid Rs160 billion to the Chinese companies, and Rs50bn was paid yesterday. A revolving fund of Rs50bn has also been established after appointing as a Prime Minister”, PM Sharif said.
PM has assured to resolve problems related to the acquisition of land for the Diamer Basha Dam.
He also said that the preparators of the Dasu Hydropower project incident will be given exemplary punishment.
The government will provide the best security arrangements for Chinese workers and those associated with the CPEC project and thank the Chinese companies for showing interest in ML-1 and other projects.
