Tariq Mehmood assumes role of MD at Pak Libya Holding Company

May 18, 2023 (MLN): In a significant development within the financial sector, the Finance Division on Thursday appointed Mr. Tariq Mehmood as the Managing Director (MD) of Pak Libya Holding Company (Pvt.) Limited (PLHCL) for a tenure of three years.

Mr. Tariq has more than twenty years of Corporate & Investment Banking experience, including valuable foreign experience of working in a bank in the USA.

He also worked in the Corporate & Investment Banking Group of one of the largest local banks in Pakistan for several years prior to joining Pak China Investment Company in 2010, where he is serving as Executive Vice President / Group Head of Investment Banking.

Before his appointment for the said role, Mr. Khurram Hussain served as MD PLHCL. Having a rich and diversified experience in the banking and financial services industry, held various senior positions both locally and internationally.

PLHCL is a joint venture between Pakistan and Libya symbolizing the ever-strengthening relationship between the two nations. It was established as a joint stock company on October 14, 1978.

The main objective of this joint venture has been to promote the economic development of Pakistan in all sectors including power, chemicals, cement & construction, textiles, etc.
