The two-day summit of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) will be held in Qingdao in east China’s Shandong province from June 9 to 10, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Monday.

The summit to be presided over by Chinese President Xi Jinping will formulate new measures to deal with shared security concerns, beside three evil forces including separatism, extremism and terrorism – as well as drug trafficking and cybercrimes, Wang told reporters during a briefing held here.

In addition, the leaders of SCO countries will also look into international security challenges and seek a global solution to address the risks, he added.

This year's SCO summit will be the first summit after the expansion of the membership from original 6 to now 8 members after inclusion of Pakistan and India as members.

Meanwhile, China will also host the leaders of Russia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan next month.

Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay state visits to China from June 6 to 10, Wang said.
