SBP to remain close on May 01

April 29, 2025 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in observance of Labour Day, a public holiday declared by the Government of Pakistan.
All banks and financial institutions will also remain closed for public dealings on the day.
Labour Day is dedicated to honouring the contributions and achievements of workers across the world. It is also known as International Workers' Day and is celebrated in many countries to recognize the struggle for workers’ rights, fair wages, and improved working conditions.
In Pakistan, it serves as a reminder of the vital role labour plays in the country’s economic development and reflects solidarity with the global labour movement.
