August 10, 2023 (MLN): State Bank of Pakistan will issue Rs100 commemorative coin to celebrate 10th anniversary of China Pakistan economic corridor, as per a press release issued today.

It is scheduled to be available from August 11, 2023.

The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has contributed greatly to Pakistan’s infrastructure and economic development since its decade of inception in 2013.

The coin boasts a round shape with milled serrations on the edge. It has a diameter of 30 mm and weighs 13.5 grams.

The coin is composed of Cupro-Nickel metal, with a 75% copper and 25% nickel content.

The front side of the coin features a captivatingly designed five-pointed star at its center.

Encased within this star are the iconic crescent moon and star from Pakistan's national flag, along with a group of five stars, reminiscent of China's national flag.

The top and bottom of the star showcase the inscriptions "CELEBRATING 10 YEARS OF CPEC" in English, and "ISLAMI JAMHURIA PAKISTAN" in Urdu.

These inscriptions are adorned with two stars on either side.

The face value of the coin, denoted by the bold numeral "100" and in Urdu as "Rupiya," are displayed on the right and left sides of the star, respectively.

The reverse side of the coin mirrors the artistic five-pointed star, also featuring the crescent moon and star from Pakistan's national flag, alongside the group of five stars representing China's flag.

At the top of the star, the coin showcases the text "CHINA PAKISTAN ECONOMIC CORRIDOR" in both English and Chinese scripts, encircling the star.

Along the bottom periphery, the coin displays the words "PAKISTAN CHEEN EQTESADI RAHDARI" in Urdu, and "FROM VISION TO REALITY" in English.

These inscriptions are embellished with two stars on each side.

Notably, the coin highlights the years "2013" and "2023" at the center left and right, respectively, signifying a decade of significant CPEC development.
