SBP to announce monetary policy decision on July 29

July 22, 2024 (MLN): The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will meet on Monday, July 29 to decide about the monetary policy.

This was stated by the deputy governor of the SBP on the sidelines of a conference today.

Later on, SBP will issue the monetary policy statement through a press release on the same day.

In the last MPC meeting held on June 10, the committee slashed interest rates by 150 basis points (BPS) to 20.5% after holding it at a record 22% for a year.

The reduction was the first in almost four years after what has been the most aggressive fight against soaring inflation.
