Customs enforcement seizes smuggled vehicles, contraband in Quetta

January 26, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan Customs’ enforcement wing in Quetta has seized Non-Customs Paid (NCP) vehicles and contraband goods valued at Rs235 million during a series of intelligence-driven operations, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said.

The haul includes luxury cars such as Toyota Mark X and Honda Accord, heavy machinery including dumper trucks, bowzers, trailers, as well as contraband items like betel nuts, tyres, Chinese salt, solar batteries, and silver.

The combined tentative CIF value of the seized vehicles and goods has been estimated at Rs235 million.

The operations were conducted based on credible intelligence, aimed at curbing smuggling and illegal trade across the region, reflecting Pakistan Customs’ ongoing commitment to protecting the national economy through stringent border enforcement.

Authorities credited the success of the operations to timely support and close coordination with law enforcement agencies in Balochistan.

“The FBR remains resolute in taking strict enforcement action against smuggling and illicit trade, while working closely with relevant law enforcement agencies to safeguard legitimate businesses and national economic interests,” the statement said.

This seizure underscores the continued focus of Pakistan Customs on disrupting smuggling networks and securing trade channels, particularly in regions vulnerable to illegal imports.
