December 10, 2020 (MLN): The KSE-100 index ended the trading session on Thursday with a 101.81 point or 0.24 percent gain to close at 42,305.84.

Participation by investors remained subdued owing to lack of positive triggers while some profit-taking activity was witnessed at various points throughout the session.

The Index traded in a range of 319.90 points or 0.76 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 42,439.76 and a low of 42,119.86.

Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 48 closed up 44 closed down, while 4 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 308.32 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 47 points, Technology & Communication with 21 points, Cement with 15 points, Transport with 13 points and Fertilizer with 12 points.

The most points added to the index was by FFC which contributed 32 points followed by TRG with 21 points, HBL with 17 points, BAHL with 15 points and PIBTL with 13 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 20 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 9 points, Pharmaceuticals with 8 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 5 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 2 points.

The most points taken off the index was by ENGRO which stripped the index of 20 points followed by MARI with 10 points, POL with 7 points, KTML with 5 points and UBL with 5 points.

All Share Volume increased by 34.22 Million to 472.36 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.12.20 Billion.

Total companies traded were 400 compared to 393 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 194 closed up, 190 closed down while 16 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 14,437 to 133,244.

Value Traded increased by 0.36 Billion to Rs.19.32 Billion
