PSX Closing Bell: What a Difference a Day Makes

Intraday Report: KSE-100 Index surges past 52

July 06, 2023 (MLN): Bulls marched forward in todays trading session as the Pakistani stock market continue to ride the wave of positivity owing to investors' IMF-led celebration, consequently, the benchmark KSE-100 index closed the session at 44,178.85 showing an increase of 626.02 points.

Remarkably, the KSE-100 index has closed above the 44,000 level for the first time since May 6, 2022, after a period of 14 months.

The index traded in a range of 662.63 points showing an intraday high of 44,212.77 and a low of 43,550.14.

Total Volume of the KSE100 Index was 166.226 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 73 closed up, 22 closed down, 1 were unchanged while 4 remained untraded.

KSE100 index was supported by Commercial Banks with 178.94, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 119.93, Fertilizer with 82.25, Cement with 68.35 and Power Generation & Distribution with 62.81 points.

Companies adding points to the index were ENGRO with 70.57, HUBC with 51.05, LUCK with 48.17, PPL with 41.41 and OGDC with 40.73 points.

KSE100 Index was let down by Miscellaneous with 28.79, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 23.85, Refinery with 10.96, Sugar & Allied Industries with 4.17 and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 2.76 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were PSEL with 28.54, DAWH with 22.5, SYS with 12.71, ATRL with 7.57 and JDWS with 4.17 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 29,532.2 with a net gain of 333.62 points.

Total market volume was 297.822 million shares compared to 351.182 from the previous session while traded value being recorded at 12.46 billion showing an increase of Rs.0.44 billion.

There was 138,672 trades reported in 332 companies with 200 closing up, 109 closing down and 23 remaining unchanged.
