Intraday Report: KSE-100 index tops 75

October 10, 2023 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index recorded a gain for the seventh consecutive session, closing at 48,140.28 with an increase of 418.48 points or 0.88%.

The index traded in a range of 458.25 points showing an intraday high of 48,166.36 (+444.56) and a low of 47,708.11 (-13.69) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 169.367 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 69 closed up, 20 closed down, 6 were unchanged, while 5 remained untraded.

KSE-100 index was supported by Commercial Banks with 133.78, Fertilizer with 64.34, Refinery with 39.54, Cement with 33.87, and Power Generation & Distribution with 26.03 points.

Companies adding points to the index were MEBL with 45.94, FFC with 33.28, UBL with 26.27, ATRL with 24.59, and BAHL with 23.05 points.

KSE-100 Index was let down by Automobile Assembler with 10.94, Chemical with 3.69, Miscellaneous with 3.56, Glass & Ceramics with 0.69, and Insurance with 0.66 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were NESTLE with 13.15, MTL with 10.96, COLG with 6.07, GHGL with 5.74 and SCBPL with 5.56 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 32,133.15 with a net gain of 242.57 points.

Total market volume was 350.068 million shares compared to 233.661 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs10.76 billion showing an increase of Rs3.69bn.

There were 154,235 trades reported in 345 companies with 227 closing up, 94 closing down and 24 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 6,688 points or 16.13% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative increase of 7,720 points, equivalent to 19.1% in the KSE-100.
