PSX announces 4th batch of stocks moving to one share lot size on May 13

May 02, 2023 (MLN): The capital market on Tuesday witnessed a bullish momentum on the back of strong corporate earnings. In addition to it, LUCK's buyback and AKFED's intention to purchase HBL shares made shareholders ecstatic.

As a result, the benchmark KSE-100 index gained 346.79 points to close at 41,927.64, marking an intraday high of 41,991.53.

Of the 97 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 53 closed up 41 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 86.72 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 207 points, Cement with 131 points, Fertilizer with 50 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 23 points and Paper & Board with 19 points.

The most points added to the index were by HBL which contributed 110 points followed by LUCK with 91 points, UBL with 78 points, ENGRO with 33 points and DAWH with 23 points.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Technology & Communication with 42 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 39 points, Refinery with 13 points, Miscellaneous with 11 points and Pharmaceuticals with 9 points.

The most points taken off the index was by SYS which stripped the index of 26 points followed by PPL with 17 points, OGDC with 15 points, TRG with 14 points and MEBL with 10 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 48.05mn to 220.03mn shares. Market Cap increased by Rs24.67 billion.

The total companies traded were 357 compared to 337 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 179 closed up, 152 closed down and 26 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 18,671 to 100,405.

Value Traded decreased by 2.48bn to Rs6.49bn.
