PSX Closing Bell: One Way Street

July 16, 2021 (MLN): Bullish sentiments continued to dominate trading at the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Friday as the benchmark KSE-100 index extended gains from the previous session and recorded a growth of over 206 points or 0.31%, to settle at 47,834 level.

The market remained positive throughout the session today and touched an intraday high of 47,892.20 points on account of easing international crude oil prices.

Of the 96 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 53 closed up 37 closed down, while 6 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 109.21 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 74 points, Cement with 70 points, Technology & Communication with 51 points, Chemical with 14 points and Automobile Assembler with 8 points.

The most points added to the index was by LUCK which contributed 59 points followed by SYS with 47 points, HBL with 27 points, UBL with 17 points and BAFL with 13 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 28 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 10 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 6 points, Automobile Parts & Accessories with 4 points and Fertilizer with 3 points.

The most points taken off the index was by POL which stripped the index of 19 points followed by PSX with 9 points, ENGRO with 8 points, PSO with 6 points and MARI with 5 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 157.72 Million to 348.58 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.49.90 Billion.

Total companies traded were 412 compared to 425 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 255 closed up, 133 closed down while 24 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 22,403 to 121,920.

Value Traded decreased by 0.89 Billion to Rs.14.59 Billion
