April 11, 2023 (MLN): The capital market on Tuesday witnessed a range-bound trading session amid a lack of fresh triggers along with ongoing political and economic melancholy. 

Accordingly, the benchmark KSE-100 index ended the trading session closed at 39,804.71, down by 31.19 points.

The Index traded in a range of 198.03 points, showing an intraday high of 39,920.95 and a low of 39,722.92.

Of the 89 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 33 closed up 51 closed down, and 5 remained unchanged. The total volume traded for the index was 32.18 million shares.

Sector-wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 24 points, Fertilizers with 16 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 9 points, Pharmaceuticals with 8 points and Property with 4 points.

The most points taken off the index was by ENGRO which stripped the index of 13 points followed by UBL with 8 points, HUBC with 7 points, MCB with 6 points and TRG with 5 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Cement with 23 points, Tobacco with 8 points, Technology & Communication and Chemical with 3 points and Food & Personal Care Products with 2 points.

The most points added to the index were by SYS which contributed 11 points followed by PAKT with 8 points, MLCF with 6 points, DGKC and KOHC with 5 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 46.22mn to 59.67mn shares. Market Cap increased by Rs0.68bn.

The total companies traded were 288 compared to 297 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 108 closed up, 159 closed down and 21 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 2,265 to 35,385.

Value Traded decreased by 0.47bn to Rs1.37bn.
