April 08, 2022 (MLN): After a unanimous decision by the supreme court of Pakistan against the ruling of the speaker of the National Assembly, bulls made a comeback at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, leading the benchmark KSE-100 index to close in green higher by 658 points or 1.5% DoD and settled at 44,444 points level.

The Index remained positive throughout the session touching an intraday high of 44,507.62

Of the 88 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 74 closed up 13 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 93.98 million shares.

Sectors propping up the index were Commercial Banks with 328 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 81 points, Cement with 52 points, Technology & Communication with 34 points and Fertilizer with 31 points.

The most points added to the index was by MEBL which contributed 78 points followed by UBL with 67 points, HBL with 45 points, MCB with 44 points and LUCK with 42 points.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution with 4 points, Insurance with 3 points, Real Estate Investment Trust with 1 points and Miscellaneous with 1 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HUBC which stripped the index of 4 points followed by IGIHL with 4 points, MUGHAL with 2 points, JVDC with 2 points and EFERT with 2 points.

All Share Volume increased by 86.87 Million to 227.89 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.93.52 Billion.

Total companies traded were 325 compared to 308 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 235 closed up, 72 closed down while 18 remained unchanged.

Total trades increased by 13,051 to 83,225.

Value Traded increased by 1.80 Billion to Rs.6.79 Billion
