December 27, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 111,351.17, showing an increase of 927.85 points or 0.84%.
The index traded in a range of 1,796.84 points showing an intraday high of 112,043.77 (+1,620.45) and a low of 110,246.93 (-176.39) points.
The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 293.22 million shares.
Of the 100 index companies 70 closed up, 29 closed down, while 1 was unchanged.
Top gainers during the day were FCEPL (+10.00%), PGLC (+9.99%), JVDC (+9.99%), TGL (+8.07%), and DGKC (+5.16%).
On the other hand, top losers were BNWM (-4.45%), SHEL (-4.10%), PKGP (-3.95%), POML (-2.84%), and HGFA (-1.79%).
In terms of index-point contributions, companies that propped up the index were MARI (+132.79pts), MEBL (+130.20pts), PSO (+60.05pts), BAFL (+54.47pts), and TRG (+38.98pts).
Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were UBL (-23.55pts), SYS (-19.41pts), PKGP (-19.17pts), HUBC (-17.94pts), and SHEL (-15.26pts).
Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was supported by Commercial Banks (+244.35pts), Cement (+175.14pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+167.81pts), Fertilizer (+50.37pts), and Technology & Communication (+38.72pts).
While the index was let down by Power Generation & Distribution (-50.47pts), Transport (-2.65pts), Close – End Mutual Fund (-1.75pts), Textile Spinning (-0.82pts), and Vanaspati & Allied Industries (-0.45pts).
In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 70,046.84 with a net gain of 557.19 points or 0.80%.
Total market volume was 815.92 million shares compared to 628.03m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs32.92 billion showing a decrease of Rs0.66bn.
There were 343,465 trades reported in 443 companies with 223 closing up, 176 closing down, and 44 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 32,906 points or 41.95% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 48,900 points or 78.30% so far this calendar year.
