PSX Closing Bell: Just Under the Line

October 02, 2026 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Friday's trading session at 168,155.49, showing a decrease of 481.36 points or 0.29%.

The index traded in a range of 1,169.04 points showing an intraday high of 168,854.46 (+217.61) and a low of 167,685.42 (-951.43) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 146.93 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 22 closed up, 76 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were FHAM (-5.60%), TPLRF1 (-4.62%), PIBTL (-3.47%), YOUW (-2.71%), and TRG (-2.51%).

On the other hand, top gainers were AICL (+2.67%), SRVI (+1.45%), SHFA (+1.38%), PSEL (+1.17%), and MARI (+1.09%).

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were SYS (-84.71pts), MEBL (-77.40pts), LUCK (-38.56pts), NBP (-37.54pts), and HBL (-30.93pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were UBL (+98.00pts), MARI (+58.37pts), OGDC (+28.08pts), SRVI (+21.70pts), and AICL (+18.72pts).

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-121.77pts), Technology & Communication (-111.68pts), Cement (-107.99pts), Fertilizer (-40.80pts), and Power Generation & Distribution (-30.30pts).

While the index was supported by Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+72.68pts), Leather & Tanneries (+21.70pts), Miscellaneous (+18.76pts), Insurance (+18.72pts), and Property (+8.49pts).

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 101,821.25 with a net loss of 275.83 points or 0.27%.

Total market volume was 493.96 million shares compared to 548.38m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs17.49 billion showing an increase of Rs0.44bn.

There were 294,325 trades reported in 494 companies with 128 closing up, 321 closing down, and 45 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has lost 12,146 points or 6.74% during the fiscal year, whereas it has decreased 5,899 points or 3.39% so far this calendar year.
