July 04, 2023 (MLN): After enjoying a bullish run on Monday with a historic single-day addition of 2,446.32 points, the investors at the local bourse preferred to book profits which led the benchmark KSE-100 Index to shed 341.99 points to close today's trading session at 43,557.01.

The index traded in a range of 1023.15 points showing an intraday high of 44,511.52 and a low of 43,488.37.

The total volume of the KSE100 Index was 245.524 million shares.

Of the 100 index companies 24 closed up, 68 closed down while 8 remained untraded.

KSE100 Index was let down by Fertilizer with 160.68, Cement with 76.41, Chemical with 50.39, Automobile Assembler with 41.45 and Commercial Banks with 41.06 points.

Companies dragging the index lower were ENGRO with 64.18, EFERT at 59.52, LUCK at 44.16, POL at 41.68 and HBL with 38.07 points.

KSE100 index was supported by Technology & Communication with 44.22, Power Generation & Distribution with 42.82, Refinery with 24.11, Engineering with 14.28, and Food & Personal Care Products with 5.38 points.

Companies adding points to the index were HUBC with 63.6, SYS with 56.59, MEBL with 44.94, PPL with 39.16, and UBL with 26.79 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index closed at 29,227.4 with a net loss of 288.82 points.

Total market volume was 419.302 million shares compared to 381.905 from the previous session while traded value was recorded at 15.78 billion showing an increase of Rs.7.13 billion.

There were 175,475 trades reported in 329 companies with 102 closing up, 208 closing down and 19 remaining unchanged.
