PSX Close: KSE100 Index loses 86 points

September 12, 2022 (MLN): Amid lack of fresh triggers, domestic equities remained lackluster throughout the day along with the negative investors’ sentiments have led the market to close at 41,862 level, after loosing 86 points (-0.2% DoD).

The marke opened on a positive note, however, failed to sustain its momentum due to mounting inflation, economic and political concerns. Moreover, no materialization of funds from friendly nations kept sentiments in check, analyst at Arif Habib Limited said.

The Index traded in a range of 324.76 points or 0.77 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 42,136.85 and a low of 41,812.09.

Of the 91 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 34 closed up 54 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 66.43 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Cement with 29 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 21 points, Chemical with 17 points, Fertilizer with 16 points and Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 15 points.

The most points taken off the index was by FFC which stripped the index of 23 points followed by DAWH with 12 points, PPL with 12 points, ICI with 12 points and NATF with 12 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Technology & Communication with 26 points, Power Generation & Distribution with 11 points, Commercial Banks with 9 points, Automobile Assembler with 4 points and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 1 points.

The most points added to the index was by TRG which contributed 26 points followed by POL with 19 points, UBL with 8 points, EFERT with 7 points and SCBPL with 7 points.

All Share Volume increased by 14.79 million to 161.43 million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.34.59 billion.

Total companies traded were 323 compared to 327 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 102 closed up, 203 closed down while 18 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 14,960 to 73,260.

Value Traded decreased by Rs1.30 billion to Rs.5.84 billion
