PMEX: Trading activity down by around 6% DoD

Trading activity at PMEX soars by 20.5% DoD

May 08, 2024 (MLN): The trading activity at the Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) on Tuesday witnessed a drop of 5.94% DoD to clock in at Rs18.62 billion with the number of lots traded at 16277. 

While, the commodity exchange closed at 10,559, up by 0.34% DoD.

Gold remained in the limelight, contributing significantly to the trading volume with transactions worth Rs8.9bn. Following closely behind, Currencies through COTS recorded trading valued at Rs2.74bn.

NSDQ 100 also made a prominent spot, clocking in at Rs1.97bn. In addition, Crude Oil, Silver, and Platinum attracted substantial attention from investors as well and their transactions stood around Rs1.69bn, Rs777.7m and Rs1.35bn, respectively.

Moreover, Natural Gas transactions reached Rs108.9m, DJ at Rs315m, Copper at Rs168.75m, S&P 500 at Rs249.45m, JPY equity at Rs172.192m and Brent at Rs24.06m.

In the agricultural commodities segment, Cotton saw active trading, with 06 lots amounting to Rs6.49m changing hands.
