PKR weakens by 10 paisa against USD

December 27, 2024 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) decreased by 9.70 paisa or 0.03% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 278.47 per USD, compared to previous closing of 278.37.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 278.60 and a low (ask) of 278.35.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 278 for buying and 279.50 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR fell 75.51 paisa or 0.26% against the Euro, closing at 290.15 compared to the previous value of 289.39.
Against the British Pound, PKR deteriorated by 16.33 paisa or 0.05% to 348.98 compared to 348.81 a day ago.
The local unit fell 0.46 paisa or 0.00% against Swiss franc to close at 309.34.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 0.43 paisa or 0.24% to close the session at 1.7646 versus 1.7689 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee decreased 1.22 paisa or 0.03% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.15 from 38.14.
The local currency weakened by 3.57 paisa or 0.05% against Saudi Riyal to 74.16. While it weakened by 2.54 paisa or 0.03% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 75.81.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has weakened against the US Dollar by 12.71 paisa or 0.05%. While it has gained 3.39 rupees or 1.22% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates unchanged by 0bps to 11.94% and 12.19%.
