PKR remains stable at 279.26 per USD

February 13, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) remained broadly unchanged against the US dollar in Thursday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 279.26 per USD.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 279.30 and a low (ask) of 279.25.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 278.75 for buying and 281.25 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR weakened 1.38 rupees or 0.47% against the Euro, closing at 291.09 compared to the previous value of 289.71.

Against the British Pound, PKR fell by 1.46 rupees or 0.42% to 349.37 compared to 347.91 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 93.38 paisa or 0.30% against Swiss franc to close at 307.10.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value gained 0.79 paisa or 0.43% to close the session at 1.8104 versus 1.8183 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee weakened 7.72 paisa or 0.20% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.29 from 38.21.

The local currency deteriorated by 0.19 paisa or 0.00% against Saudi Riyal to 74.46. While it weakened by 0.19 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.03.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has depreciated against the US Dollar by 92.28 paisa or 0.33%. While it has fell 71.40 paisa or 0.26% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 3bps to 11.54% and 11.79%.
