PKR falls 10 paisa against USD

April 28, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) deteriorated by 9.94 paisa or 0.04% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.07 per USD, compared to the previous closing of 280.97.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.15 and a low (ask) of 281.10.

In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 280.80 for buying and 282.80 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR decreased 2.86 paisa or 0.01% against the Euro, closing at 319.01 compared to the previous value of 318.99.

Against the British Pound, PKR decreased by 87.69 paisa or 0.23% to 374.36 compared to 373.48 a day ago.

The local unit weakened 28.24 paisa or 0.08% against Swiss franc to close at 338.29.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value strengthened 0.10 paisa or 0.05% to close the session at 1.9579 versus 1.9589 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee rose 5.08 paisa or 0.13% against Chinese Yuan to close at 38.51 from 38.56.

The local currency depreciated by 2.25 paisa or 0.03% against Saudi Riyal to 74.93. While it weakened by 2.71 paisa or 0.04% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.52.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has fell against the US Dollar by 2.73 rupees or 0.97%. While it has depreciated 2.52 rupees or 0.90% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 1bps to 11.85% and 12.10%.
