PKR depreciates by 6 paisa at interbank trade

January 06, 2020 (MLN): Pakistani rupee (PKR) depreciated by 6 paisa against US Dollar (USD) in today's interbank session as the currency closed the day's trade at PKR 154.96 per USD, against last session's closing of PKR 154.9 per USD.

The rupee endured a relatively dull trading session with very little intraday movement, trading in a range of 6 paisa per USD showing an intraday high bid of 154.98 and an intraday Low offer of 154.93.

Within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 154.50/155.10 per USD.

Meanwhile, the currency lost 62 paisa to the Pound Sterling as the day's closing quote stood at PKR 203.31 per GBP, while the previous session closed at PKR 202.7 per GBP.

Similarly, PKR's value weakened by 63 paisa against EUR which closed at PKR 173.24 at the interbank today.

On another note, within the money market, the overnight repo rate towards close of the session was 12.90/13.00 percent, whereas the 1 week rate was 13.20/13.25 percent.
