Pakistan Bureau of Statistics today released the Sensitivity Price Index numbers for the outgoing week. Despite a sharp rise in the energy prices around the world and therefore in Pakistan, the SPI fell at a steady pace during the month of January.
According to figures released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, weekly SPI for the combined group decreased by 0.19% compared to the previous week (Jan 25, 2018), meanwhile registering an increase of 1.69% compared to the corresponding period (Feb 2, 2017) last year.

The items, which registered a increase in prices included High Speed Diesel, Kerosene Oil, Petrol, Bananas, Eggs, Pulse (Moong) and mutton.
The items, which registered a decrease in prices included potatoes, onions, tomatoes, chicken, garlic, gur, pulse masoor, pulse gram, LPG, pulse mash, sugar and red chili powder.
The items with no change in their average prices during the week under review included bread, beef, milk, curd, mustard oil, cooking oil, ghee, salt and tea .
