Pakistan, Ukraine discuss ways to enhance cooperation in Defence production

Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain says ties between the defence industries of Pakistan and Ukraine have strengthened over a period of twenty years.

Talking to First Deputy Secretary of National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleg Gladkovskiy in Kiev on Wednesday, he stressed the need for further enhancing this collaboration.

They discussed to explore new avenues to enhance the bilateral relations especially in the field of defence production.

A number of important issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting. Rana Tanveer Hussain mentioned that the bilateral ties between the Defense industries of the two countries have strengthened over a period of twenty years. We would like to further enhance this collaboration.

A delegation headed by Minister for Defense Production Rana Tanveer Hussain is on four days visit to Ukraine to attend Arms and Security Expo 2017 in Kiev on the invitation of Minister of Defence of Ukraine General Stepan Poltorak.

The delegation is comprised of Maj Gen Tariq Ghafoor, Additional Secretary Ministry of Defence Production and Lt. General Muhammad Naeem Ashraf Chairman Heavy Industries Taxila.

The delegation attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition and visited stalls of exhibitors. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine "Mr. Oleksandr Turchynov" inaugurated the opening ceremony of the XIV International Specialized Exhibition “Arms and Security-2017.”
