Pakistan to receive $1mn from Indonesia

December 23, 2022 (MLN): Indonesia will give financing of $1 million to Pakistan to help it cope with this year's severe floods, as per Radio Pakistan reported.

An agreement was signed between Chairman National Disaster Management Authority Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik and Indonesian Ambassador Adam Mulawarman Tugio in Islamabad.

During the meeting, it was informed that this grant would be utilized in the recovery and rehabilitation of the most vulnerable population in Pakistan, to meet their basic need of food, nutrition, and shelter in the aftermath of floods.

A portion of the grant could be employed for resilience and disaster preparedness interventions, it added.

The NDMA Chairman expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Indonesia for showing solidarity and extending humanitarian relief assistance for flood affected in Pakistan.

The Indonesian Ambassador reiterated his country's commitment to continue the support of vulnerable communities in the flood-affected areas.
