Pakistan 1Q statistics released by Ministry of Finance

Pakistan’s total Debt repayments during July to September rose by 7.5% to a sum of Rs. 445 billion. Defense expenditure during July to September rose by 20.5% to Rs. 182 billion
According to the MoF reports, Budget deficit during July to September rose by 1% to Rs. 440 billion. Government continues to meet deficit through domestic and external borrowings.
During the said first quarter, domestic borrowing stood around Rs. 432 billion and the share of external borrowing amounted to Rs. 8 billion.
With Government’s increased emphasis on increasing tax net, Tax revenue collection in first quarter increased by 21% to Rs. 911 billion.
The revenue from Petroleum levy during July to September period rose by 22% to Rs. 44 billion. On the expenses side, Current expenditure in first quarter rose 16% to Rs. 1,240 billion
