Oil, gas production declines by 0.6%, 0.3% in a week

September 13, 2023 (MLN): Hydrocarbon oil production for the week ended September 08, 2023, stood at 69,552 barrels of oil per day (BPD), down by 0.6% WoW as compared to 69,938 in the previous week, latest data issued by Pakistan Petroleum Information Service (PPIS) showed.

Similarly, Hydrocarbon gas production for the week ended September 08, 2023, fell to 3,249 million cubic feet (MMcf/d), inching down by 0.3% WoW compared to 3,260 in the previous week.

Company-wise, Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDC) made the major contribution to the production of oil which was 48.63% of the total oil produced in the week, standing at 33,821 bpd.

Other companies include Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), MARI Petroleum Limited (MARI), and Pakistan Oilfields Limited (POL) with a production of 10,667 bpd, 1,000 bpd, and 4,636 bpd respectively.

On the other hand, MARI held dominance in gas production, producing 911 MMcf/d, around 28% of the total gas produced.

Other companies include OGDC, PPL, and POL with a production of 740 MMcf/d, 602 MMcf/d, and 53 MMcf/d respectively.

Some of the major oil fields comprised Nashpa (10,455 bpd), Makori East (8,623 bpd), Adhi (5,262 bpd), Kunner Pasaki Deep (1,274 bpd), Maramzai (1,942 bpd), Pasakhi (5,077 bpd), Makori Deep (380 bpd), and Mazari (343 bpd).

Some of the major gas fields comprised Mari (896 MMcf/d), Sui (289 MMcf/d), Uch (411 MMcf/d), Qadirpur (165 MMcf/d), Kandhkot (143 MMcf/d), Sutiara Deep (101 MMcf/d), Kunnar Pasakhi Deep (89 MMcf/d) and Rajani (22 MMcf/d).
