OGDCL discovers gas, condensate at Soghri North-1

March 17, 2025 (MLN): Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (PSX: OGDC), which operates the Soghri Exploration License with a 100% working interest, has revealed a gas and condensate discovery at the Soghri North-1 well in Attock District, Punjab.

The well was spudded on May 21, 2024, as an exploratory well and drilled to a depth of 4,942 meters in the Patala Formation.

Based on wireline log interpretations, cased hole drill stem testing (DST-1) was conducted in Chorgali-Sakesar-Nammal-Patala Formations, the notification issued to the local bourse.

After completion and an acid job, the well flowed at a rate of 13.95 MMSCFD gas and 430 BPD condensate through a 32/64" choke at a wellhead flowing pressure of 2890 Psi from the Chorgali and Sakesar Formations.

This discovery is expected to minimize risks, boost confidence in further exploration within the Soghri Exploration License, contribute to meeting energy demand, and enhance the hydrocarbon reserves of OGDCL and Pakistan.
