NEPRA to determine reference generation tariffs for wind and solar power projects

January 16, 2019 (MLN): Power generation companies namely; Shafi Energy Private Limited and Sino Well Private Limited have submitted petitions to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA), requesting determination of reference generation tariff for their 50 Mega Watt (MW) wind power projects for proposed sale of power to Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guaranteed) Limited.

Along with these companies, Javed Solar Park Private Limited has also filed a petition with NEPRA, requesting determination of reference generation tariff for its 49.5 MWp solar power projects for proposed sale of power to Central Power Purchasing Agency (Guaranteed) Limited.

The Authority has admitted the aforementioned petitions and will hold a hearing for the same on January 30, 2019, at its office in Islamabad.

As per formal announcements published by NEPRA, Shafi Energy seeks a levelized tariff at Rs.7.12/ kWh, Sino Well seeks it at Rs.7.64/kWh and Javed Solar Park seeks a levelized tariff at Rs.8.22/kWh.
