Investment in securities by Overseas shows a two-fold increase via SCRA

September 25, 2020 (MLN): The gross sale of securities via Special Convertible Rupee Account (SCRA), during the week ended September 18, 2020 was recorded at Rs.21.4 billion, which is around 122.8 percent higher than the figures recorded last week.

According to a weekly report on SCRA released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the total purchase of securities stood at Rs.17.8 billion, which is 113.4 percent higher than the prior week.

Consequently, the net sale of securities for the week ended September 18, 2020 clocked in at Rs.3.61 billion, i.e. around Rs.2.34 billion lower than last week's numbers.

Over the week, the overall purchase of securities rose by Rs.9.45 billion while the net sale of securities increased by Rs.11.8 billion.

Apart from this, the inflow of remittance into these accounts stood at Rs.9.25 billion, while its outflow has been reported at Rs.10.57 billion.

The closing balance of SCRA was recorded at Rs.33.1 billion, which marks a rise of Rs.2.46 billion over the week.
