February 14, 2024 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 index surged to 61,961.77 showing an increase of 734.84 points or 1.2% by around 09:53am.

The positivity comes amidst a bit of clarity on the political front.

The total volume of the KSE-100 index was 28.415 million shares.

Yesterday, the index climbed 161.61 points or 0.26%.

In today's session, KSE-100 index was supported by Commercial Banks with 129.86, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 110.67, Fertilizer with 91.55, Power Generation & Distribution with 72.5, and Cement with 62.19 points.

Companies adding points to the index were PPL with 87.46, HUBC with 44.64, ENGRO with 37.59, EFERT with 37.5, and HBL with 32.49 points.

Meanwhile, companies that dragged the index lower were DAWH with 10.31, MARI with 6.43, and UBL with 4.34 points.

In the broader market, the All-Share index was at 41,744.95 with a net gain of 454.15 points.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 20,509 points or 49.48% during the fiscal year, whereas the ongoing calendar year has witnessed a cumulative decrease of 489 points, equivalent to 0.78%.
