May 15, 2023 (MLN): During an unfavorable turn of events, the annoying internet disruption has badly affected the buying of foreign exchange, causing individuals to face complications in materializing their Hajj pilgrimage.

According to the recent requirement, every buyer has to go for biometrics for buying foreign exchange but due to days long internet disruption has caused delays in executing their transactions.

An application designed for biometric verification has faced technical issues, leaving buyers unable to execute their transactions.

In addition to this, due to the economic and political turbulence, the value of the Saudi Riyal (SAR) is increasing against the Pakistani rupee (PKR), dashing their dream to perform Hajj.

It is important to note that the internet services are down across the country since Tuesday, May 09, 2023, right after the arrest of Chairman PTI, Imran Khan.

The closure of internet and broadband services has resulted in significant financial losses for business owners, freelancers, and telecom companies operating in Pakistan.
