Gold rate rises to Rs 116,600 per tola

January 06, 2020 (MLN): Safe-haven asset extended gains on Wednesday as some selling around the US dollar was witnessed. The price of gold in the international market reached a two-month high of $1,955, up by $07 while white metal was pegged at $27.83 an ounce.

Gold rates moved up in the domestic bullion market. The price of 24 karat gold jumped by Rs 600 to Rs 116,600 against the price of Rs 116,000 per tola reported in the previous session.

According to the data provided by the All Sindh Saraf and Jewellers Association, the price of 10-gram gold increased by Rs 515, to stand at Rs 99,966 against the price of Rs 99,451 reported yesterday.

On the other hand, the price of silver tola and 10-gram silver tola remained static at Rs 1,400 and Rs 1,200.27, respectively.
