Gold extends gains to settle at Rs113,00 per tola

September 21, 2021 (MLN): Gold extended gain in the domestic bullion market as the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs100 to close at Rs113,00 per tola.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram of 24k gold also inched up by Rs86 and was traded at Rs96,880 while the 10gm 22k gold was valued at Rs88,806, Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association reported.

On a similar note, the price of 24-karat silver witnessed an increase of Rs20 and traded at Rs1,400 while the price of 10-gram silver soared by Rs17.15 to close at Rs1,200.27.

In the international market, the demand for gold increased slightly by $7 to trade at $1,765 per ounce on the back of a subdued dollar. However, investors cautious approach ahead of U.S. Federal Reserve policy meeting for more clarity on its tapering plans kept the increase in check. Meanwhile, silver was valued at $22.56 an ounce.
