Gold rises to Rs112,900 per tola

September 20, 2021 (MLN): Gold demand in the domestic bullion market observed a slight increase today as the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs400 to close the trade at Rs112,900 per tola.

Similarly, the price of 10-gram of 24k gold also inched up by Rs343 and traded at Rs96,794 while the 10gm 22k gold was valued at Rs88,727, as per the data provided by the Karachi Sarafa and Jewellers Association.

On the contrary, the price of 24-Karat silver per tola and 10-gram silver remained stable at Rs1,380 and Rs1,183.12, respectively.

Meanwhile, in the international market, the demand for gold remained subdued on the back of a stronger dollar position. In addition, investors adopted a cautious approach while awaiting the U.S. Federal Reserve meeting. Given this, the price of safe-haven gold has only increased by $3 to trade at $1,758 per ounce while silver was valued at $22.44 an ounce.
