August 22, 2019 (MLN): Food group exports from the country during first month of financial year 2019-20 grew by 11.45%, as compared to the corresponding period of last year.
During the month of July, 2019, food commodities worth $408.4 million exported as against $366.4 million in same month of last year, a latest data issued by the State Bank of Pakistan revealed on Thursday.
During the period under review, rice worth $181.565 million were exported as compared to the exports of $165.709 million of same month of last year.
The exports of fish and fish preparations increased by 63.19% as Pakistan earned $36.429 million from it, as against $22.323 million from the same month of last year.
Fruits and vegetables as well as leguminous vegetables costing $48.301 million and $23.630 million were exported during the period, as against $41.253 million and $14.788 million worth exports in the same month of last year.
The exports of meat and meat preparations increased by $46.25% to $23.455 million, as compared to $16.037 million in same month of last year.
