DRAP fixes MRPs of 25 medicines

August 24, 2023 (MLN): The Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has fixed the Maximum Retail Prices (MRPs) of 25 drugs, said a notification issued on Friday. 

These 25 medicines include injections, pills, inhalers, and syrups. 

The pricing details for various medical products have been announced as follows:

The MRF of Inhalere (Turbohaler) will have a price of Rs1,389 for the 400mcg version and Rs833 for the 200mcg version.

For a pack of 10 Zerbaxa powder, the maximum price has been set at Rs153,566. Additionally, a pack of 30 Lorviqua 25mg tablets will be priced at Rs276,857, while the pack of 30 tablets for the 100mg variant will be sold for Rs846,857.

Ibrance tablets will be sold in packs of seven at a cost of Rs74,510 for the 75mg, 100mg, and 125mg variants.

The maximum price for a pack of 20 Paracetamol tablets has been set at Rs192.

A pack of 50 Bilastine tablets will be available for Rs1,723, and Rupatadine solution will be priced at a maximum of Rs207 for 60ml and Rs406 for 120ml.

A pack of 30 Alogliptin tablets will have a maximum price of Rs650.

Trelagliptin will be priced at Rs10,263 for the 50mg version and Rs17,105 for the 100mg version.

Tofacitinib tablets will come in packs of 10, with a cost of Rs26,710.

Polivy injections will be priced up to Rs320,000.

Ibuprofen lysine injections will be sold for Rs103.

A pack of 500 Chloroquine Phosphate tablets will be available for Rs1,006, and Etanercept vials will be priced at Rs26,400.

Albendazole Tablets, sold in packs of 60, will carry a maximum price of Rs1,267.

For a single vial of Hepatitis-B Immunoglobulins injection, the maximum price is set at Rs10,275.

A pack of 10 Irbesartan + Amlodipine tablets will be sold for Rs838 (105mg) and Rs956 (110mg).

Lastly, a single vial of Bortezomib injection can now be sold for up to Rs17,513.

It is important to note that the fixed MRP shall not be applicable on drugs whose registrations under sub-rule (a) of rule 29 of the Drugs (Licensing, Registration and Advertising) Rules, 1976 were issued before the issuance of this Notification unless otherwise stated expressly.
