CPEC creating opportunities for sustained growth by alleviating poverty: Ahsan

Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is creating opportunities for sustained growth by breaking cycles of poverty and under-development. Speaking at a function in Dalian, China, he said that the Chinese vision for the One Belt One Road has correctly focused on connectivity in order to reach a higher plane of human development across the world.

The Minister said that CPEC is bringing much-needed investment into energy and infrastructure sectors. He said the investments are going to under-developed areas and creating opportunities for sustained growth. The Minister said that Pakistan has successfully overcome all challenges with the strong commitment of political leadership and support of all stakeholders.

He said the increasingly visible success of the CPEC reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and China to the project's early and effective realization. He said the fruits of projects are beginning to deliver instant results with reduction in power shortages and providing connectivity between remote places and developed areas, bringing economic opportunities for people.
