Jun 03, 2020 (MNL): The KSE-100 index ended the trading session on Wednesday with a 6.63 point or 0.02 percent decline to close at 34,401-mark, as risk-averse investors chose not to participate amidst worsening situation of Pakistan due to rise in COVID-19 cases.

The Index traded in a range of 299.30 points or 0.87 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 34,656.05 and a low of 34,356.75.

Of the 94 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 36 closed up 55 closed down, while 3 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 95.39 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Fertilizer with 31 points, Cement with 18 points, Pharmaceuticals with 17 points, Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. with 13 points and Automobile Assembler with 13 points.

The most points taken off the index was by ENGRO which stripped the index of 20 points followed by HBL with 18 points, DAWH with 13 points, NBP with 9 points and AICL with 9 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Power Generation & Distribution with 21 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 20 points, Textile Composite with 15 points, Oil & Gas Marketing Companies with 12 points and Automobile Parts & Accessories with 9 points.

The most points added to the index was by HUBC which contributed 22 points followed by BAFL with 15 points, POL with 13 points, PPL with 8 points and PAKT with 8 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 91.74 Million to 129.95 Million Shares. Market Cap increased by Rs.2.34 Billion.

Total companies traded were 356 compared to 358 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 131 closed up, 202 closed down while 23 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 18,275 to 73,152.

Value Traded decreased by 1.80 Billion to Rs.6.82 Billion
