November 20, 2019 (MLN): Following a power-packed performance in the past several days, the KSE-100 index ultimately succumbed to selling pressure as it ended the trading session on Wednesday with a 526.69 point or 1.37 percent decline and closed at 38,037-level.

The Index traded in a range of 684.68 points or 1.78 percent of previous close, showing an intraday high of 38,662.31 and a low of 37,977.63.

Of the 95 traded companies in the KSE100 Index 24 closed up 70 closed down, while 1 remained unchanged. Total volume traded for the index was 186.50 million shares.

Sector wise, the index was let down by Commercial Banks with 202 points, Oil & Gas Exploration Companies with 113 points, Cement with 49 points, Fertilizer with 30 points and Chemical with 24 points.

The most points taken off the index was by HBL which stripped the index of 63 points followed by ENGRO with 49 points, OGDC with 35 points, UBL with 34 points and MCB with 33 points.

Sectors propping up the index were Engineering with 8 points, Automobile Parts & Accessories with 6 points, Food & Personal Care Products with 3 points, Glass & Ceramics with 2 points and Cable & Electrical Goods with 2 points.

The most points added to the index was by FFC which contributed 24 points followed by NATF with 10 points, THALL with 7 points, ISL with 7 points and AGP with 5 points.

All Share Volume decreased by 57.68 Million to 327.64 Million Shares. Market Cap decreased by Rs.89.09 Billion.

Total companies traded were 384 compared to 390 from the previous session. Of the scrips traded 130 closed up, 235 closed down while 19 remained unchanged.

Total trades decreased by 18,446 to 95,901.

Value Traded decreased by 2.65 Billion to Rs.11.41 Billion
