December 09, 2022 (MLN): The government has appointed Akif Saeed, Abdul Rehman Waraich, and Mujtaba Ahmed Lodhi as commissioners of the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for a period of three years, sources told MG Link News on Friday.

The position of commissioner was vacant for a long period of time.

Akif Saeed has over 30 years of post-qualification experience including 25 years of banking and capital market experience. Earlier in 2014 also, he was appointed as Commissioner SECP. 

Abdul Rehman Warraich has served in both Provincial and Federal Governments including the Debt Management department, and the Ministry of Finance. 

While Mujtaba Ahmad Lodhi is currently serving as a Member (Mergers & Acquisitions) at the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) since August 2020.
