Worker remittances falls to $3.47bn in June

July 09, 2026 (MLN): Pakistan received workers' remittances of $3.47bn in June 2026, down 18.3% from $4.25bn in May 2026, and up 2% on a yearly basis from $3.41bn in June 2025, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).


On a cumulative basis, in 12MFY26, total remittances came in at $41.58bn, which is the highest recorded up from $38.3bn in 12MFY25.


Saudi Arabia retained the top position as the largest contributor to workers' remittances in June 2026, with inflows totalling $829.61m, down 19.1% from $1.03bn in May 2026, and up 0.8% from $823.21m in June 2025.

The UAE remained in second place, with inflows of $792.25m, down 21.3% month-on-month from $1.01bn in May 2026, and up 10.5% from $717.19m in June 2025.

Within the UAE, Dubai contributed $614.61m, Abu Dhabi $146.18m, Sharjah $16.87m, and other emirates $14.59m.

The United Kingdom (UK) held on to third place, contributing $514.87m, down from May's $645.48m, and down 4.2% from $537.65m in June 2025.

Remittances from the United States (USA) stood at $296.79m, down from $349.05m in the previous month, and up 5.5% from $281.24m in June 2025.

Workers' remittances from European Union (EU) countries reached $415.37m, down from May's $465.81m, and down 6.1% from $442.22m in June 2025.

Among EU member states, Italy led with $121.13m, followed by Spain $74.52m, Germany $64.78m, Greece $46.89m, France $42.43m, Ireland $21.76m, Belgium $16.69m, Sweden $10.8m, Netherlands $8.84m, and Denmark $7.52m.

Other GCC countries (excluding Saudi Arabia and UAE) contributed $320.69m, lower than the previous month, and up 5.7% from $303.46m in June 2025.

Key contributors included Qatar $95.93m, Oman $110.84m, Kuwait $68.19m, and Bahrain $45.74m.

Among other notable countries, Australia sent $82.49m, Canada $60.78m, South Africa $22.19m, Japan $7.01m, South Korea $8.52m, Norway $12.61m, Malaysia $12.87m, Switzerland $4.14m, and other countries contributed $94.35m.
