SBP revises T.T. charges reimbursement scheme for home remittances

June 30, 2025 (MLN): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has revised the Reimbursement of Telegraphic Transfer (T.T.) Charges Scheme for home remittances, with changes set to take effect from July 1, 2025.

Under the updated framework, the minimum size of eligible transactions has been increased to $200, while the rebate structure has been simplified to a flat rate of SAR 20 per eligible transaction.

Moreover, Exchange Companies have now been included in the scheme alongside Authorized Dealers and Microfinance Banks.

Operational instructions for implementing these changes are provided here.

All institutions concerned have been advised to inform their customers and constituents accordingly.

These adjustments are part of SBP’s broader efforts to streamline incentives and support the flow of remittances through formal channels, which play a critical role in Pakistan’s external account stability.
