Prudent policies of Govt stimulates economic recovery: FM

September 7, 2021: Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin says prudent policies of the government have stimulated economic recovery amid COVID-19 pandemic as it is heading in the right direction.

Chairing a meeting to review the trade balance situation in Islamabad yesterday, he said the enhanced revenue collection and improved ratings indicate that economy has gained momentum and is geared towards an inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

The Minister said the economy registered a growth rate of four percent in the current fiscal year and there is an increased demand for imports.

He stressed upon the Ministry of Commerce to conduct sensitivity analysis and build scenarios for effective forecasting of imports and exports for each month of the year.

Secretary Commerce briefed the meeting about the trade balance situation over last two months.
