August 28, 2025 (MLN): The benchmark KSE-100 Index concluded Thursday's trading session at 147,343.50, showing a decrease of 150.53 points or 0.10%.

The index traded in a range of 832.45 points showing an intraday high of 148,042.00 (+547.97) and a low of 147,209.55 (-284.48) points.

The total volume of the KSE-100 Index was 306.53 million shares.

 

Of the 100 index companies 51 closed up, 47 closed down, while 2 were unchanged.

Top losers during the day were FABL (-5.32%), PABC (-3.97%), HINOON (-3.28%), FATIMA (-2.94%), and HBL (-2.60%).

On the other hand, top gainers were PIBTL (+10.05%), SAZEW (+10.00%), HUMNL (+4.07%), PAEL (+3.93%), and KEL (+3.82%).

 

In terms of index-point contributions, companies that dragged the index lower were HBL (-130.89pts), FFC (-115.49pts), BAHL (-110.20pts), FABL (-63.88pts), and SYS (-56.80pts).

Meanwhile, companies that added points to the index were SAZEW (+106.43pts), LUCK (+53.68pts), UBL (+46.00pts), ENGROH (+33.39pts), and PAEL (+30.25pts).

 

Sector-wise, KSE-100 Index was let down by Commercial Banks (-331.65pts), Fertilizer (-172.87pts), Power Generation & Distribution (-27.78pts), Technology & Communication (-26.31pts), and Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (-24.69pts).

While the index was supported by Cement (+147.58pts), Automobile Assembler (+115.46pts), Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+74.82pts), Inv. Banks / Inv. Cos. / Securities Cos. (+38.57pts), and Cable & Electrical Goods (+30.25pts).

 

In the broader market, the All-Share Index closed at 91,015.68 with a net gain of 31.98 points or 0.04%.

Total market volume was 935.45 million shares compared to 856.66m from the previous session while traded value was recorded at Rs33.52 billion showing an increase of Rs4.23bn.

There were 344,447 trades reported in 474 companies with 238 closing up, 201 closing down, and 35 remaining unchanged.

To note, the KSE-100 has gained 21,716 points or 17.29% during the fiscal year, whereas it has increased 32,217 points or 27.98% so far this calendar year.
