September 04, 2026 (MLN):  The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has entered into a partnership with the United Kingdom's MOBILIST programme aimed at unlocking greater private investment in Pakistan's sustainable development and climate transition through exchange-listed products.

MOBILIST is described as the only development finance programme of its kind that invests in listed products on public markets to mobilise private capital into emerging markets and developing economies, in support of sustainable development outcomes.

The programme also conducts research to build understanding of mobilisation through public markets, with the aim of encouraging other investors and market participants to pursue similar transactions, said a press release issued.

Under the partnership, MOBILIST will engage with PSX's network of issuers and market intermediaries in Pakistan to identify products eligible for support.

The programme offers a combination of equity capital, technical assistance and advisory services to back Pakistan's initial public offerings (IPOs) and the development of new listed products.

Alison Blackburne, Deputy High Commissioner Karachi, expressed pride over the UK's partnership with PSX to mobilise private investment towards businesses addressing climate and development challenges in emerging markets such as Pakistan.

She pointed to the Parwaaz Green Action Bond as an example of what innovative development finance can achieve when it taps into public markets to draw in private capital, calling this approach essential to attracting investment that supports growth and development for Pakistan's economy and its trade and investment partners, including the UK.

Farrukh H. Sabzwari, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of PSX, said the exchange was pleased to partner with MOBILIST to help businesses access Pakistan's capital market.

He noted that eligible businesses would benefit from equity investment, technical assistance, technical advisory and enhanced visibility as they work towards listing on the Exchange.

Farrukh H. Sabzwari further described the collaboration as an important step towards bringing more sustainable businesses into the public market and creating greater opportunities for them to raise capital.

He added that the partnership would enable local businesses to advance projects aligned with the SDGs and net-zero commitments, while using the capital market to drive sustainable growth and contribute to Pakistan's broader sustainability agenda.
