PKR strengthens 6 paisa against USD

August 04, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) appreciated by 6.23 paisa or 0.02% against the US dollar in Monday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 282.66 per USD, compared to previous closing of 282.72.
Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 284 and a low (ask) of 285.5.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 283.00 for buying and 285.50 for selling.
In comparison to major currencies, PKR depreciated 4.06 rupees or 1.26% against the Euro, closing at 326.75 compared to the previous value of 322.69.
Against the British Pound, PKR weakened by 2.53 rupees or 0.68% to 375.21 compared to 372.68 a day ago.
The local unit decreased 3.07 rupees or 0.89% against Swiss franc to close at 349.65.
Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value weakened 3.39 paisa or 1.81% to close the session at 1.9111 versus 1.8772 a day ago.
Pakistani Rupee fell 17.52 paisa or 0.45% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.38 from 39.21.
The local currency strengthened by 1.46 paisa or 0.02% against Saudi Riyal to 75.35. While it gained by 1.70 paisa or 0.02% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.95.
During the current fiscal year, PKR has rose against the US Dollar by 1.11 rupees or 0.39%. While it has decreased 4.11 rupees or 1.45% so far this calendar year.
In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched up by 2bps to 10.82% and 11.07%.
