PKR inches up, closes at 281.26 against USD

October 03, 2025 (MLN): The Pakistani rupee (PKR) increased by 0.83 paisa or 0.00% against the US dollar in Friday's interbank session to settle the trade at PKR 281.26 per USD, compared to previous closing of 281.27.

Throughout the day, the currency saw an intraday high (bid) of 281.25 and a low (ask) of 281.30.
In the open market, exchange companies quoted the dollar at 281.40 for buying and 282.35 for selling.

In comparison to major currencies, PKR gained 44.58 paisa or 0.13% against the Euro, closing at 330.05 compared to the previous value of 330.49.

Against the British Pound, PKR appreciated by 92.54 paisa or 0.24% to 378.64 compared to 379.56 a day ago.

The local unit rose 25.40 paisa or 0.07% against Swiss franc to close at 352.84.

Against the Japanese Yen, PKR's value rose 0.44 paisa or 0.23% to close the session at 1.9078 versus 1.9122 a day ago.

Pakistani Rupee appreciated 0.12 paisa or 0.00% against Chinese Yuan to close at 39.51 from 39.51.

The local currency appreciated by 0.42 paisa or 0.01% against Saudi Riyal to 75.00. While it deteriorated by 0.08 paisa or 0.00% against the U.A.E Dirham to close at 76.58.

During the current fiscal year, PKR has increased against the US Dollar by 2.50 rupees or 0.89%. While it has weakened 2.71 rupees or 0.96% so far this calendar year.

In the Money Market, the benchmark 6 Month Karachi Interbank Bid and Offer rates inched down by 1bps to 10.91% and 11.16%.
